First of all, if there are any copyrights that belong to the Daily Mail, then I acknowledge them all, I would hate to ignore their fine journalism qualities!
I’m showcasing 15 screenshots of the Daily Mail at its finest, all the photos were taken in July and there were many more pointless articles that had either a lack of substance, spelling mistakes, or both in some cases!
Some of the stories are so poorly written, what ever happened to proof-reading? Their articles are full of spelling mistakes and missing words, mostly the online articles consist of this.. Maybe because the article is ‘virtual’ and can be edited at anytime, they feel the need to just publish the rough version? Is that how much they value their readers – we deserve the un-polished version?
One of their ‘apprentices’ shall we call them, is a woman called Samantha Brick, she rose to ‘fame’ after they published her article “women hate me because I’m beautiful”, since then, even after all the bad press and red arrows she has received, the Daily Mail now have her as a writer for them, her latest article is basically about why her best friends should not have the bad taste to honour her as a godmother!
Photo number 12, is a floater. They’re still in the wrong for publishing it, because its one of 2 things, scenario 1 is Miley Cyrus recently got some young dogs, now I myself know that excitable young dogs accidentally scratch your arms and legs, when my dogs were at that not full Adult but not Puppy stage, they are so playful, that they scratch. The Daily Mail claimed that the scratches on Miley’s arm were Self Harm injuries, they did not even mention they could be dog scratches despite the fact they were very irregular for ‘typical’ self injury cuts. But scenario 2, is that Miley did the marks on her arm, which was wrong for tabloids to cling to the ‘Miley is a cutter’ image, because it ridicules the person, rather than helping.
I hope you enjoy these photos!

I have the worst sweet tooth in the world, I must confess this. Whether it was because I was born in the year of the pig or I’m just plain greedy or both is still undecided!
I’ve had a slight obsession with sweets for the past 3 months, I know what they say, any infatuation that lasts longer than 3 months is more than just a crush 😉
Anyway, its bad enough where I live has one of the largest Tescos in Europe, I also have a mini local Tescos that stocks the full range of Tesco own brand 3 for £1 sweets. I love them all and its only recenttly I have become like that.
I believe that, what with the rising cost of fuel and the fact that chocolate has to be imported, I have actually gone off the solid brown menace in a brightly coloured wrapper, I was never a large fan of chocolate. I would eat it because it was there, though I didn’t like the way it made me feel, I felt sluggish, sick and like I was getting a cold after eating it. Sweets that don’t contain chocolate or only chocolate flavouring have never made me feel like this.
I think that just like cupcakes have made a boom in the food industry, candy will made its lasting mark too! Prepared to become obsessed!
I’m a big believer in horoscopes, I know that everyone who bought the same magazine as me for that week, got that exact same horoscope for Capricorn as I did, but I believe there is some truth in it, because my week has reflected the horoscope once or twice, I don’t purposely go out of my way to follow the horoscope, things just work out that way.
I was born 20th January, so depending on the magazine (English or American), the English say I’m a Capricorn, but the Americans say that I’m a Aquarius. Whatever they say, I’m on the cusp, so I have traits of both, I believe I’m more of a Capricorn though mainly because I was born in England and I also have more of the traits.
Here is my Natal chart what’s on there actually describes me to the tee, so I think its pretty reliable!
I googled ‘Natal Chart’ and I found two really good free sites, with a full breakdown of what all the rising planets and stuff means, they are ChaosAstrology and Astrolabe I genuinely recommend both of them, as I took a chart from each, to compare reliability and consistency. Both were consistent which was nice and they are explained well, but not dumbed down. Its a happy medium.
I’m also a believer in Chinese astrology, I am a Wood Boar/Pig and I couldn’t be happier with my sign, honestly. The Chinese Zodiac has more thought of traits, for example the pig has goodness, a sense of right and wrong, kindness and passion for what it believes in, but our downfall is over indulgence! Some famous people born in the pig sign are Julian Assange, the Duchess of Cornwall, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and many others, notice how all they do is kind and good things?
One thing I don’t really follow is compatibility, I won’t go out of my way to ask a person their birthday just to see if I’ll get on with them or not, if I find out later down the line, that the symbols aren’t as harmonious as they had ought to be, then I won’t terminate communication, I’ll let the friendship/relationship take its course and if it prospers, it prospers, if it doesn’t then it doesn’t. Sometimes even the most compatible of people fall out, so don’t rely on a chart that says ‘be friends’ or ‘run away’.
Do you believe in Astrology? What’s your sign? Do you believe that your sign is a true representative of you? As always, comment below, you don’t have to have an account, you can just be a stranger in passing!
Its pretty hard to not to notice the current trend at the moment, Nail Art. Its the trend that’s easy to do at home or cheap to get done at a salon.
If you’re having a nail art treatment on your natural nail then that can come in at under £10 for a full set of 10 which will last just under 14 days.
Nail art, unlike a hair cut is much cheaper and you don’t have to keep going back for expensive trims every 6 weeks. Nail Art also isn’t like clothes, you can wear your mini masterpieces all day everyday for a good 14 days if you wanted to, if you wore a new dress everyday then you would get some funny looks to say the least!
There have always been forms of Nail Art in the world and through the ages, with the Chinese a few centuries ago adorning their nails with intricate patterned extensions, now you can have your nails in a long spike fashion with tonnes of rhinestones chucked on top or a demure french manicure with flowers going down the side of the nail.
I haven’t taken a Nail Art course, for me, its just something that came naturally, I probably will take a course one day as they usually only last a few days.
Here is a Tumblr blog that showcases some of the best nail art in the world, take a look at fuckyeahnails for the designs that really make you go ‘wow’!
Don’t worry if you can’t recreate the beautiful looks to begin with, it takes time and (sometimes) patience, search YouTube for inspiration and never give up!
The best thing I can recommend is to start simple, with middle range, non-gloopy polish and always use a base coat.
Share your thoughts on nail art below! 🙂
I got my inspiration for this design from the lovely Lovelynailsxx I wanted to try out a different sort of halfmoon and Polka Dot Halfmoon’s tutorial was right up my alley!
So I started with my must have base Rimmel 5in1 base & top coat, then I moved on to ‘Nail tip whitener’ by Natural Collection found at Boots I painted my entire nail with that using 2 coats, then when it was dry I used a proper average size natural bristle paintbrush to dip in to my Blue by Rio Nail Art, to do the halfmoons, I find that using a paintbrush for halfmoons much easier to manoeuvre opposed to the standard nail polish brushes, anyway that aside I then poured a little of the white on to a piece of paper and began with my dots (using my homemade dotting tool – a bobbypin opened up using the fat end for dots). I did a 3×3 dot design as my nails are rather short at the moment.
If you want to see my halfmoon video, which is basically how I do my ‘moons, nothing fancy, its here – Basic Halfmoon.
I really enjoyed doing this design and I will most defiantly come back to recreate this magic! Also, if you don’t want to do dots, then its fine to just leave the Blue & White halfmoons as they are, I thought that either way they looked super cute, just have fun, they’re your nails!
If you try the design out too, don’t forget to send me a photo link via Twitter or Photobucket!
I got my inspiration for this design from the YouTube channel Cutepolish.
What you will need: A little jar that you can put a finger in, rubbing alcohol/surgical spirit and pre cut newspaper in a 2x2in square.
Start off by painting the nails a white or very very light grey colour. Put enough coats on so that its opaque, then when it is 100% dry (it’ll smudge if it isn’t fully dry) dip your finger in the jar with the rubbing alcohol/surgical spirit in for about 7 seconds, before you lift your finger out the jar, line up the piece of Newspaper with your other hand, take your finger out the jar then bam! Press the newspaper on the fingernail, firmly, but don’t let it slide, otherwise it will blur. Then when all 10 fingers are done, seal the nail design with a clear top coat. If you don’t, the ink will wash off. There you have it, Newspaper nails!
Here’s how the technique works:
The Rubbing alcohol/surgical spirit, softens the nail polish but doesn’t remove it like nail polish remover would.
A little tip I have for you is to get a little jar specially for your rubbing alcohol.. The best jar for this the one that face moisturisers come in, wait until you have an empty one, clean it out, then fill it up with the spirit, that way you will always have a handy jar! It never goes stale of out of date, so you can keep it for years as it sterilises itself!
Good luck and don’t forget to show me some pictures when you’ve tried it out!
So I did this while ago, February to be precise! I had freshly turned 16 and I wanted something a bit different. Steering away from the regular white tip French manicure, I opted for something a little bit funky and shaken up!
I started off with my nail must have, Rimmel 5-1 base and top coat, applying my first coat of that, I then took to my Misstique (Teal) which is made by Missguided in the Nail splash range, to paint on the tip colour, I used its full brush and sweeped a backwards ‘c’ and then got a cotton stick dipped in nail varnish remover to straighten up the lines and the overspill on the side of my finger. I waited for that to dry and then took to the black Rio nail art bottle.. It has a built in thin brush, so I used the thin brush for the highlighting line just under the Teal. I then poured a bit of Black polish on some paper and dipped my DIY dotting tool (a pencil with a pin pushed in the eraser part) and created the polka dots with the pin head. When it was completely dried, I put a top coat of my Rimmel 5-in-1 on and that was it for 11 days! Because I had the black line under the Teal, it was about 2/4 of a millimetre before the hangnail, so no chipping and no real infilling to be done, fabulous!
Try it out and tell me what you think,I would love it if you switch up the colours! if you have Twitter, send me to the link of your photo reproducing the design!
Tuesday was the last day of the 4 day extravaganza which was the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, for many, it meant 2 extra days off all the stresses of life – work, school and general life. Let’s take a moment to look back at the festivities.
The first day of the celebrations was Sunday, that saw the 1000 piece strong flotilla of boats proceed down the River Thames, the Royal Barge was the onlooker of the show and the centre of attention. Every water vessel from row boats to narrow boats to dragon boats to historical boats, every boat you could think of, it was most likely there, there was even a special section of Row boats that were comprised of the Commonwealth countries.
The first boat in the flotilla was the Bell boat, that had ringing bells, that rang on the dot of 3pm. The last boat to go past was the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, playing out to the national anthem, the weather stank, it really did, so much so that the final boats singers were drenched but they kept calm and sang for the Queen!
Monday, had the Jubilee Concert, unfortunately about 2 hours before the nights entertainment kicked off, the Duke of Edinburgh was rushed to hospital due to a Bladder infection, so that meant he had to miss out on the concert, it also meant that the Queen was about one and a half hours late, but she had a good reason, the mood was still uplifted, even if the Queen did have a slight look of worry to her face. The whole thing was planned by the wonderful Gary Barlow (who I think should be knighted soon), he even recorded a special song with Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Gareth Malone, that features vocals from all the Commonwealth countries and representing the United Kingdom are the patriotic sounds of the Military wives, the song simply entitled ‘Sing’ is beautifully composed and if you don’t well up at least, well then you sir, have a heart of steel! Other performances belonged to Dame Shirley Bassey, Kylie Minogue, Sir Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder and Madness. I’m not really a fan of Sir Paul McCartney, but I approve that he sang Live and Let Die (one of my favourite Bond songs). I think that Hey Jude could have been sung at the end by all the performers, but alas that didn’t materialise. There were many other singers, but the ones I mentioned are the ones that are memorable for all the right reasons! The night ended with the Queen sticking the diamond shaped Crystal into the podium to light the Jubilee beacon, then after that there were some spectacular fireworks lasting for four minutes, a recital of the national anthem and that was it!
Tuesday had a more formal feel to the occasion. With the Duke of Edinburgh still in hospital, but getting better, the Queen headed to St Paul’s Cathedral minus her husband. They had a service marking the Queens dedication and duty to our fine country, after the service had ended, the Queen then made her way to the House of Parliament for the thanksgiving dinner in Westminster Hall (which I thought looked an awful lot like the grand hall at Hogwarts). Then after about an hour or so afterwards, the Queen made her way back to Buckingham Palace in her carriage, this time sitting next to the Duchess of Cornwall, with Prince Charles opposite them both. Once they got inside the Palace, they then appeared on that famous balcony to watch another Royal Flypast, although this time not as grand as the one at Windsor, nevertheless though, she enjoyed it as you could see the beaming smile from one ear to another. Later in the evening, the Queen gave a special address to the country, taking time out to thank the many millions of people who turned out for this prestigious event and that she was humbled by their loyalty.
In a decades time, we will be celebrating the Platinum Jubilee, I really hope that Elizabeth II is there to see it and for many more years after that.
Her majesty is the one constant the world has, in ever changing times, she has never betrayed or scolded our country and she only deserves to have nothing but love, appreciation, admiration and dedication shown to her.
To her family though, she is more than just ma’am, she’s Mum, Granny, Aunty and Cousin.
Prime Ministers, Celebrities and many other notable people have come and gone, but the Queen has remained the Queen.
God save our gracious Queen
Long live our noble Queen
God save the Queen
Send her victorious
Happy and glorious
Long to reign over us
God save the Queen!♥
Diamond Jubilee fever has spread throughout the country and its pretty hard not to hear ‘Diamond Jubilee’ every hour, this means free run on all sorts of commemorative memorabilia, from sick bags with our monarchs face on it to Gold plated coins with the patriots side profile stamped upon it. Some of the items are well made, others had no thought put in to them, the best of the worst memorabilia I saw last year, was to commemorate the marriage of William and Catherine, 99p shop had a whole range of cheap tat, and one of the items was a plush pillow, but the print was so bad, that the Duke and Duchess had death eyes, eyes black as pitch and for some strange reason, it looked like a bird pooped on Kate’s head.. Well it is from a shop that boasts everything is under a £1, what did you expect?
This year, for the Diamond Jubilee, I personally came across a mixed bag of items. The worst I saw were towels (the proper ones you dry yourself with) and tea cloths. Who would want to dry themselves with a towel that has her majestic face on? Or wipe their dirty hands on the Queens head tea towel? Unless you’re going to use them as a wall hanging, I think its downright disrespectful.
I think the best most affordable yet decent place to buy memorabilia was Lidl, they had some beautiful mugs, in boxed (cardboard round the sides) packaging.
Of course, upon asking an antique specialist if these somewhat novelty items – sick bags, tissues, toilet rolls etc. Would gain value as time goes on, the reply was ‘no’ but I suppose, what’s monetary value when it has sentimental meaning? Obviously anyone who is a collector of these things knows, to keep it in mint condition (still in its original box and unused) and to keep it safe from mould, damp etc.
If you would like to buy commemorative items from past Jubilees, royal weddings and other royal related things, check your charity shops! I volunteer for the British Heart Foundation and we always have Royal items coming through our doors, so keep your eyes peeled there, or failing that, visit collectors shops/websites and eBay!
Did you buy any memorabilia? What did you buy? 🙂
So as you all know, I had eaten all my data, hence my absence.. This time 2 years ago, I used to use my phone, solely for the purpose of texts and facebook, now I hardly ever text and only really use my phone for internet, blogging and twitter. Because of that I am forced to pay for texts that I don’t need, just so I can have 500mb *rolls eyes*, but I can blog about that again some other time!
Having no internet, meant nothing to stare at on my large square screen, nor did it mean sifting through emails half asleep when I had just woken up, it was wonderful! I think I might do it again sometime, though next time I’ll just use the ‘switch off data services’ button in the network settings rather than running out of megabytes.
Things get done when I’m not staring at my glowing screen. I actually have nothing to do, so I suppose saying that things get done, is a bit of an exaggeration, but I worked on my tan, worked on some more interesting blogs for y’all and I picked up one of those strange paper thingys, y’know the ones that have a front and back cover?
I must admit, as soon as I got the ‘Your data use has exceeded your Freedom Freebee limit. Until the end of your current 30day Freebee period you will be charged a daily usage rate (£1 per 25MB)’ text, my little heart sank in to the small gap between my shoe and toes, I thought I was going to melt without that familiar warm (loved) glow a busy BlackBerry provides you with.. But as you can see, the lack of email didn’t harm me.
I also think that I slept better, as I wasn’t kept up by that nagging “g’wan, just one more page” and then one more page turns in to twelve more pages and what was once 11pm has now zoomed by in to almost 2am!
I managed to get in to trouble with tree sap, nettles and other people.. Who needs internet, the virtual world, when we can get in to trouble with the real world!
I do have to admit, nearing the end of my abstinence I was starting to miss Twitter, mainly, not so much Facebook (for obvious reasons) but to be honest there’s no real point in missing them really, because no one messages me any more, but I am curious to see if my followers went up a little.
I hope you all behaved yourselves while I was away and didn’t get in to too much trouble, mainly stuff that involves cells, because then I would lose readers :p
But joking aside, its fabulous to be able to blog again and if I had the opportunity to make a professional career out of blogging, then I would.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder.
